Designing Restaurant Menu Covers

There are many things to consider when purchasing menu covers for restaurants. You want customers to think highly of the menu itself, while also making a practical and wise choice in the types of covers you choose. To get started, first design your menu the way you see fit. A casual diner may have a menu that includes a lot of choices and will best be served by a cover that contains a front, back and pages in between. A more elegant restaurant will have a smaller menu, with a cover choice being front and back only.

Another important feature is the type of material that will best serve your customers. You want something durable of course, but the type of material will also set the stage for your restaurant. A casual eatery usually has restaurant menu covers made of laminate, plastic and vinyl materials, while a fancy bistro will have leather-made or wooden menu covers. An Eco-friendly restaurant may have menu covers made from bamboo or recycled materials. While you want the overall look to be sharp and sleek, also consider how easy it is to keep your menus clean and what can be used on them to wipe up spills from soda, food or wine.

The size of your menu covers is also an important feature. Many restaurant owners enjoy the look of unusual shaped menus since they bring a new element to the restaurant. However, if you plan to change your menu often, opt for menu covers that are made in standard sizes. This makes it easy to switch out the menu whenever needed, ideal for specialty restaurants where the selections are always changing. If you choose to go with non-standard sized restaurant menu covers, you will need to have your menu reprinted by an outside company, which could cut into your budget.
