When you have spent time and money finding the perfect chandelier for you home, you want to make sure that you keep it well maintained. This means that you will have a light that will give it’s best performance illuminating your room all the time. There are several things that you can do to keep your chandelier in good shape.
The first thing you need to do is to lightly dust it at least once a week. The best way to do this is to get a synthetic feather duster. You can get these with log handles so that you can reach high places and this will enable you to lightly dust your chandelier without needed to stand on something. I would recommend that you do this before cleaning another part of your room as the dust that you remove from your chandelier will dirty other things in your room.
At least twice a year, and preferably more you want to take the time to clean your chandelier light with a damp cloth. You will need to either take your chandelier down to do this, or stand on a stepladder. If you are doing this when the light is still in situ, then I would recommend you play it safe and switch off your electricity. By keeping up a regular cleaning schedule such as this, you can ensure that you don’t get a build up of dust that proves hard to clean off.
The other thing that you need to do aside from regular cleaning, is make sure that you always replace the bulbs when they blow. Keep a stock of bulbs in so that you can do this easily. This will make sure that you don’t put extra power to the other bulbs causing them to blow.
Keep you chandelier lighting in good condition and it will give you many years of good service. If you neglect to keep it clean, the light it gives off will dull and you will be more likely to start to have problems with it.
