Rosacea Treatment: 4 Tips on Avoiding Weather Related Rosacea Triggers

If you’ve been diagnosed with the skin condition known as rosacea, you have little choice but to deal with the effects of having rosacea in your day to day life. One aspect of this that must be dealt with on a day to day basis is dealing with triggers that act to increase the symptoms you experience with rosacea. Unfortunately, one of the biggest external triggers faced is that from the environmental: the weather.

What are some ways you can minimize or avoid weather related rosacea triggers as a form of rosacea treatment?

One important routine to establish is simply paying attention to the weather forecast. This can be done either by tuning into the weather station on TV or using the internet to keep track of the temperature and conditions coming up.

Knowing what to expect leads to our second tip, which is planning a head based on those conditions. How can you adequately be prepared without knowing what to expect?

In a way, you sort of care be prepared for anything by using our third and fourth tips for avoiding weather related rosacea triggers. The first one here involved preparing a goodie bag and having it with you at all times. What items should go in this goodie bag? I’d suggest keeping a scarf, sunscreen, and some kind of over the counter rosacea treatment gel like ZenMed, so you always have something handy to protect from the wind (a scarf), the sun (sunscreen), and something available for topical relief (ZenMed.) On a similar note, you should also apply this concept to keeping certain larger items in your car. This is the fourth tip. Simply put together in a box in the trunk or place in the back seat all the larger items you can’t have with you in a purse or bag, but would still benefit from having nearby when needed. This includes things like umbrellas, coats, extra set of long sleeved pants and shirts, another scarf just in case, and a nice big hat for blocking out the sun.

It’s impossible to entirely avoid the weather condition that can function unfortunately as rosacea triggers. But what we can control is our response to such conditions. Keeping items nearby, whether in a bag or in the car, as well as paying attention to the weather and planning ahead can make all the difference in your day when it comes to avoiding these weather related rosacea triggers.
