Popping Pimples: The Proper Way

Having a pimple can be very embarrassing and could make anyone want to just stay inside and hide from the world. No one wants people to see this bump on their face and it could make many people feel very insecure. If most people could, they would probably choose to stay hidden under their covers until it goes away but that is very unrealistic for most people. Many try to pick pimples themselves to reduce the size of them, but most end up going about it the wrong way. Be sure you are popping pimples the right way, because if it is done the incorrect way, things could become worse. And if done the proper way the pimple will be gone in a day or two.

It is essential that you only pop pimples that are ready. You can tell if a pimple is ready to be popped because it will be white at the very tip. The white blood cells eventually make their way to the top of the pimple and form a visible white head. If it does not look like this then do not pop it, popping it will only make it worse.

Make sure that your hands are clean before starting or else the dirt from your hands will get onto your face and could create more blemishes also dirt could get inside of the open wound after it is popped and create an infection. Before pop a pimple, make sure that you have two gauze pads readily available so that you use those instead of your hands.

Make sure you use the gauze pads and squeeze the pimple very gently. Use the gauze pads to wipe away the pus that should come out.

Bare fingers should not be used to get rid of the pus because the hands may still have a little dirt on them. Make sure that all the pus is removed and cleaned away.

Make sure that the zits pop with a gentle squeeze. If it does not do that then it may not be ready to be popped so do no attempt to pop it because this may make it the problem worse.

Having clear skin is a very nice feeling to have, especially after having a huge pimple on your face. Many people will do whatever it takes to have clear skin even if it results in having clear skin temporarily, then even worse skin soon after. This is what incorrectly popping pimples can do to your skin so make sure that when popping pimples, you pop them the right way.

Top 5 Acne Products

The acne product market is so vast, it would be difficult to cover all of the best products in five easy steps. In fact, because there are so many varied causes of pimples, skin types, and success solutions, one person’s top five list might be completely different from another person’s top five. Consider also that there are so many expensive products which claim to cure your face while they break your budget. For the average consumer, listed below are five affordable, beneficial acne products:

1) Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash-Cream Cleansers: This gentle cleanser is perfect for acne-affected skin, not only because it is a cream formula, but also because it comes in several different varieties for different skin types and acne problems. One of the best for acne sufferers is the redness-reducing cleanser.

2) Mary Kay Time Wise Solution: Even if you are not trying to fight wrinkles or ageing lines yet, the formula used in the cream cleanser and lotion is perfect for acne-prone skin. It cleanses gently while toning, firming, and restoring the entire face.

3) L’Oreal Cream Cleansers: Again, the cream cleansers are generally the way to go. Products with too much scrubbing action actually irritates the skin further and causes more acne breakouts and redness. L’Oreal has four different cream cleansers: deep cream cleanser, deep exfoliating cleanser, deep facial cleanser and deep facial cleanser for sensitive skin.

4) Neutrogena Rapid Clear System: This set fights acne quickly and effectively with a cleanser, toner and pimple gel. The products not only help reduce acne, but also reduce redness and aid the healing of acne and scars faster.

5) Dove Body Bars: Although these soap bars are generally reserved for the rest of our bodies apart from the face, it is not to say that you cannot use them for pimple control. Not only do the Dove body bars smell great, but they are also a gentle enough cleanser to effectively clean and clear the skin without over-drying, increasing redness, or clogging pores.

If you are looking for affordable skin care, try the above options before anything else!

Get rid of acne

If you have got a date or important event coming up, and you need to get rid of acne quickly, you need to think about what actually causes acne in the first place. Acne is caused by many different factors, but mainly by an excess of androgenic hormones in the body or the sebaceous glands being overly-sensitive to these hormones. This causes the skin to produce too much sebum, which in addition to shedding skin cells and pollutants, blocks the pores. When this happens, the bacteria “P Acnes” grows in the blocked pore (it’s a bacteria that thrives in an oxygen-free environment). The bacteria activate the body’s immune system, which causes inflammation.

So helping to prevent or treat acne needs can be looked at in several ways:

Try to control the body’s hormonal balance (through medication);

Ensure that the pores are as clear as possible (through a good skin care routine, usually taking advantage of products containing salicylic acid); or

Try to ensure that the P Acnes bacteria find it as hard as possible to survive on the skin.

In reality, a combination of the last two is the most common approach. However, to deal with acne as quickly as possible, the best way is to combine an anti-inflammatory approach (such as that offered with Freederm) with a full assault on the bacteria on the skin.

You may have noticed that some skin care products contain hydrogen peroxide. Hydrogen peroxide is essentially made of the same molecules as water (plain H2O), but with an added oxygen atom. This means that it will react when it is put onto the skin and release the extra oxygen atom. Because P Acnes is an anaerobic bacteria (meaning that it can only grow in environments where there is no oxygen), the newly oxygenated pores kill the bacteria quickly.

Here is a warning: Hydrogen peroxide will burn the skin if not diluted. When using it to get rid of acne quickly, only ever buy the 3% solution (or use the 6% and mix it half and half with water).

Simply dab a little of the diluted solution on a cotton wool ball and then wipe over the acne-prone skin. Always ensure you do not let it drip and avoid the eyebrows and hair line because the solution can bleach hair! Use this after gently cleansing morning and night for a few days and follow with an oil free, non-comedogenic moisturizer.

This tip can help most people get rid of acne quickly. However, ensure that you do not use it for longer than necessary – the peroxide will dry the skin, which over long periods can cause premature aging.
