The new Cricut cake machine has two different sizes of mats. The small Cricut cake cutting mat has a series of measuring rings on it. This helps you to get the right size cut that you need. It is also the better size to get the more intricate cuts you might be using for your cake, cupcakes or what ever you are making.

The bigger Cricut cake cutting mat 12×24 has two separate set of ring measurements on it. This is good if you are making a bigger project. It is also better if you are making a border to fit around your cake. This would also be the better size to use if you are making 24 cupcakes, you could then cut all of the designs out at one time and they would be uniform, because you would have a big enough sheet of either gum paste or frosting to use.
