Stances When Firing a Airsoft Sniper Rifle

There are a few stances that you can position yourself when you firing an airsoft sniper rifle. The stances aren’t hard but it’ll take awhile for you to get familiar with and perfect it to make a good shot.  There are three major stances or positions you can take when firing, the first position is the most common is that is standing up, second stance is kneeling or sitting and the third stance is called the prone position. I’ll go in to more detail later on in this article on sniping stances. When you are down reading this  article you should have a clear understand of each stance the benefits of each method.

Let’s start off with the standing stance, this is the most common stance you be preforming and the most difficult since you are most likely running around looking for new location to snipe from.  This is because the only support you got is your feet, you’ll have to keep your hand, arms, shoulders and rifle steady when you’re about to fire.  The basic principle is having one hand steady the sniper rifle while you have your other hand on the trigger with the butt-stock against your shoulders for more support. I tend use a more light weight rifle like the AGM MP001 Airsoft sniper rifle because it ultra light weight and easier on the shoulders when you fire (less kickback).

The second firing position is kneeling/sitting, kneeling is something you probably be comfortable doing but when it coems to sitting then that a whole another story. Best way to shot kneeling is to sit on your right foot and your right knee on the ground for support and accuracy (right hand shooters, it vice-versa for left handers). Set you left foot in the front and the back of your left elbow resting on your left leg. This will give you a pretty firm support. When shooting from a sitting position, sit you butt on the ground with your legs out and knees bent, lean forward and place your elbows on your knees for support.

The third and last stance is called the prone position, this has to be my most favorite position to snipe from because it gives me excellent support and cover. Prone is another way of just saying laying down. So basically you are shooting from the laying position. I have found that you will fire less accurate if your are shooting from a prone position in a straight line, it’s best if your body is angle to the left (right-hand shooters) just a little when firing from a prone position.

I hope this clear up some misunderstanding of different stances to try when shooting an Airsoft sniper rifle. You’ll have to try each position and figure out which position work best for your shooting style. Like I mention earlier, the best sniping position would be the prone position because of the support and cover. Airsoft snipers like take new position and always want to be unseen and the best way to accomplish this is in the prone position!
