The Different Types Of Backpacks

There are many types of backpacks at department stores and those that sell sporting equipment.  As a result, it should not be too hard finding a backpack to fit your needs.  However, before you start searching, you should think about how you will be using your backpack.  This will help you determine which one is best for your situation.

If you use a notebook computer on the road, you should probably get a laptop backpack.  They are designed with an interior sleeves that use extra padding to protect your computer during your commute.   The padding provides protection even if you accidentally knock your computer on the ground.  Be aware, though, that laptop backpacks differ from shoulder bags, as the latter do not evenly distribute your computer’s weight.  Laptop backpacks can, which is why they are easier to carry.

Mesh backpacks are another choice.  They allow you to choose a variety of gear, especially those that relate to sporting equipment.  As their name indicates, the inside of these bags is made of a mesh-like material.  This allows everything inside to get extra air, something that is essential for dirty gym clothes.  In fact, mesh backpacks will stay fresh even after several hours of housing smelly clothing.  Also, if you get a backpack with lined mesh, no one will be able to guess what is in your bag.  This gives you a little bit more security against someone who might be tempted to steal what you have.

For those who need simple bags for schooling, nylon backpacks are the best choice.  They are very durable and relatively inexpensive.  Perhaps this is why they are considered a classic among school bags.  You get plenty of space for your books and any other materials you might need for studying.

All in all, by knowing the basics behind the different types of backpacks, you will be in a better position to make a wise buying decision.

Vacation in Budapest

A city break in Budapest, offers an enthralling mix of history, culture and entertainment. Plus Budapest is also one of the least expensive cities in Europe to travel. But even if Budapest is a haven for backpackers, it offers a great deal in luxury and style.
Budapest comprises of two cities – the historical Buda on the west bank of the Danube and the vibrant, bustling and modern Pest on the east bank. The two cities have their distinct individuality and charm.
Buda is famous for its rich historical heritage and monuments. You can start off by visiting Stone Age ruins as well as Roman remains at Obuda. The castle district presents a beautiful glimpse of perfectly preserved medieval architecture and is a perfect way to spend a sunny afternoon.
The highlight of this part of the city is the Fisherman’s Bastion, a group of seven towers representing the Magyar tribes who founded Budapest.
Pest lies on lower land compared to the city of Buda, which is situated on the hills adjoining the Danube. Pest is the economic and political center of Hungary and offers several important sight-seeing destinations.
There are several political buildings including the impressive Parliament of Hungary. If you enjoy dining, Pest offers a great deal in fine cuisine as well as traditional establishments. The shopping district in Pest is definitely worth visiting, and you can find anything from iPods to antiques. But Pest really comes alive after dark!
Tourists wishing to sample the local party scene will find scores of places with highly original bars and clubs ranging from drinking gardens, terrace bars as well as swanky dance clubs.
If you go on a city break in Budapest, make sure to visit the public baths which offer a unique experience. There are in excess of 30 thermal springs in the city, the most notable one probably being the Gellert Hotel Spa.

Golf Holidays in Portugal – Best Regions To Visit For Golfing Breaks

In terms of sunny golf holidays Portugal will always beat the British Isles for year round good golfing weather. This article picks out the country’s key golfing regions, and some championship courses that showcase the best course design and vistas on offer.

When it comes to having a centralized golf holiday Algarve can provide the greatest concentration of courses within close proximity of accommodation. Vilamoura town has become the main destination for golfers, in no small part due to the town’s range of resorts and courses (e.g. Vale Do Lobo, Oceanico Old Course & Pinheiros Altos).

But it is worth venturing out east in the Algarve (especially in Winter when the eastern area is warmer) to discover the sophisticated resorts that have sprung up around Benamor and Monte Rei. Driving to the western Algarve area provides even more championship courses (e.g. Penina).  There are also some great hillside courses (Parque Da Floresta & Boavista being two must-play courses) that have the additional challenge of the gusting wind off of the Atlantic Ocean.

Staying on the west coast, many long haul golfers flying into Lisbon could be on the first tee of a dozen great courses in Estoril within hours of landing. If you only play 2 courses in the area then it would have to be Penha Longa and Praia D’El Rey, both of which have a course design and level of quality befitting of the green fee. But you won’t just want to play 2 courses in the area as then you would miss out on playing the Troia links, the two Aroeira courses (of which the mature one is the better) and Quinta Da Beloura.

Finally, one of the burgeoning regions in Portugal in golf terms is the Oeste region. Courses and resorts are popping up around Sizandro, Falesia D’El Rey and Rainha and while they may not have the golfing history as some of the southern courses, they still have some great course architecture and the scenic drives to these towns can often prove to be less frantic than the traffic experienced in the south.

Ecotourism

Eco tourism encompasses responsible travel to fragile, pristine, and usually protected areas that strives to be low impact and small scale. Eco tours help to educate the traveler, provide funds for conservation, directly benefit the economic development and political empowerment of the local communities, and foster respect for different cultures. If you are looking to take an eco tour that focuses on sustainable travel, there are many tours whose focus is just that.

Some companies focus on ecotourism, and design tours with sustainability in mind. A growing number of travel companies are beginning to realize the importance of ecotourism and what negative effects regular tourism can have on the local communities. Eco tours focus on respect for the places and people visited, leaving the smallest footprint possible behind.

By supporting local businesses in the places you visit, you are helping to support the local economy. Also stay in locally owned hotels, eat at local restaurants, and shop from local artisans. Traveling this way will also give you a more authentic and rewarding experience.

When traveling to natural sites or attractions, make sure to take out only what you take in and to not leave anything behind. Be careful to not support any attractions or sites that take advantage of, or promote cruelty to endangered species.

To travel in a sustainable way, it is easiest to travel individually. That way you can control where you stay, what you do, and the size of the footprint you leave behind. However, there are many eco tours available that promote sustainability and respect of the places that they visit.

Make sure to research the companies before you travel with them to see if they have eco tours available. One complaint found in certain tour reviews, like Contiki tour reviews for example, is the lack of sustainable tours available. However, Contiki does have some eco lodging and certain tours are eco friendly, especially when traveling through endangered areas.
